Antique French Ruby Red Glass Bride's Basket

No Mark. Art Deco 1920's ruby red dish with undulating rim and fine Dore Bronze Mounts. This gorgeous oval bowl is housed in a bronze footed holder with a handle giving it a basket look. These baskets were wedding gifts of the Victorian era. Cut glass bowls became popular after 1890. Originally called cake or fruit baskets with the name bride's basket coming later.
