UCAGCO China Ceramic Boy with egg candy dish
UCAGCO China Ceramic Boy with egg candy dish
Mark: UCAGCO China hand painted Japan. United China and Glass Company was based in New Orleans and New York. They were a large distributor in the United States of many Japanese china patterns in the early 1950's. UCAGCO dates back to 1850 originally called Abe Mayer & Co. In the 1930's the company took on the official trademark UCAGCO and began expanding overseas. From what information I can find this makers mark would have been from right after WWII. Cherub carrying egg shaped basket adorned with small flowers. Unglazed (bisque) figurine/candy dish. This cute little cherub and its egg-shaped basket would look so sweet sitting on an end table/shelf. Used in excellent condition. Shipping may be different than at check-out.
